Required Documents

  • Printed copy of the GIS approval letter
  • Completed visa application form (downloaded from the GIS website)
  • Two recent passport-size photographs (white background)
  • Proof of accommodation in Ghana (hotel reservation or invitation letter)
  • Yellow Fever vaccination certificate
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of stay
  • Payment for visa fees (cash or credit card, as specified)

Application Process

  1. Apply online on the Ghana Immigration Service portal and upload all required documents.
  2. Receive an approval letter by email (usually within 3–5 business days).
  3. Print the letter and carry it with your passport and other documents to the airport.
  4. Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport, proceed to the Visa on Arrival counter.
  5. Submit your documents, pay the visa fee, and have your passport stamped.

Fees and Processing Time

  • Standard Visa on Arrival fee: approximately USD 150–200 (varies by nationality).
  • Express service may incur an additional surcharge.
  • Processing time at the airport counter: 1–2 hours, depending on queue.
